It had everything I wanted… the drama, the romance and redemption and diversity. It’s the first book that I have read with an interracial relationship between Korean w/ Black and it filled my expectations and more. Don’t wait! Get it! Excited for the second book!

This was completely different to what I normally read. This was so incredibly beautiful and filled with love. As a white woman I was never able to imagine myself as a character who was a poc, but reading this book and the way Fatima was able to completely transfix me, I was able to understand things on a deeper level than just my own. The story between Mina and Joon was so beautiful that I constantly found myself smiling as well as tearing up and I never get upset. Please don’t pass up this beautiful piece of art work created by someone I now hold very dear to my heart and call friend. What an astonishing piece of literary work from a brand new author.

I’m so so so in love with this book! I couldn’t put it down, it’s so beautifully written. Following the development of Mina’s relationship with her sister and watching ber navigate through her feelings for Joon was so captivating. It was so easy to relate to Mina’s emotions, the good and the bad. Fatima’s writing made it feel as though I was truly there, being able to relate to and feel Mina’s pain, love, suffering and happiness; I cried, laughed, gasped and blushed with her. Reading Fatima’s debut novel after waiting over a year for its release is an honour and the wait was definitely worth it, I truly can’t wait for the next book in this trilogy!!

I wanted to cry because this beautiful story story was coming to an end. Especially because of this ending(no spoilers), my great consolation is that I have it on good authority that our author is completing book 2 and will grace us with the copies soon. Now, onto what I absolutely love about this book. It's a beautiful bittersweet believable love story that spans ages. Our characters are from 2 spicy cultures, and they will be well described in this book. Google was my companion as I learned about cuisines and languages I didn't know about. And of course, if you're like me, who's a grammar police or love vocabulary our author doesn't miss. You will also fall in love with Mina and Joon, and appreciate their many friends. This story is a page turner. I encourage everyone to read and enjoy because I surely did. Waiting for the next segment.

Inspired by E.L. James’ “Fifty Shades of Grey,” Fatima Alabi, once a nonreader facing homelessness at 19, immersed herself in the trilogy, finding solace. 1. What Inspired You to Write This Book?

I wrote this book because I love stories. The Harry Potter series is a favorite of mine, and its combination of creativity, magic, and suspense was inspiring to me. I find being immersed in a story and invested in what’s to come very exciting, so I wanted to create something that would allow readers to do just that.

2. What will your readers gain from your book?

In addition to being entertained, I hope my readers will see characters in difficult circumstances and feel they’re not alone in their real-life struggles. I hope that my characters’ ability to find a way forward will inspire readers to look for silver linings and that their successes as a team and struggles when divided show readers the importance of togetherness.

3. What was your unique quotient for this project?

One thing that makes my story unique is the shift in perspective. Readers get to see the events of the book unfold through the eyes of a variety of characters. This provides readers with additional information and adds layers to the story. Readers get to know each character a little more while developing a more complete picture of what’s happening in the book.

4. How did becoming an author help in your brand/business?

Becoming an author has opened the door to new opportunities. It allowed me to express my creativity in a way that helped me connect with different people and be a part of a new community. Through social media, in-person events, and more, I’ve had the chance to meet new people, share new experiences, and even support other authors in their journeys to become published.

5. What are your future plans as an author?

Moving forward, I will continue writing The Rodney Brothers series. I have a lot more of this story to give, and I’m excited to see my first two books continue to evolve.
