After finishing the first Empire of Strings book, I found myself longing for a return to Unity Falls. The world created in this duology is so unique, the power given to the characters is so cool, and the story brings it all together very well. I’m not sure how Jeffrey Lee came up with the twists and turns we experienced in his sequel, but they were well done and kept you on your toes. I would highly recommend Empire of Strings!

Wow! Book 2 picks up where book 1 left off and just keeps on running. There’s not many places to take a breath and I loved every minute of it! I found myself disappointed when I had to put it down and could not wait to pick it back up again. Were able to delve even deeper into the world of Serrano and Unity Falls as well as just how Emilyn’s father Zarlyn and Gavelyn came to their current crossroads and what choices were made to get there. We see even more of Valel and just how deep her plans for the world go. Emilyn goes through such a drastic change as she comes to grips with finding out who she is, what she is able to do, and just what she will have to do in order to save the world and people she loves. All the while Cidelyn will be there to help her and we see how he came to be wrapped up in this conflict and how he will play an important part in the conclusion. The others who joined Emilyn in the first book rally the city around them and we see so much emotion and growth through more than just the main characters. By the end there were times I felt my heart aching for the decisions these characters had to make and the conclusion was wonderful in bringing the story full circle. The prologue leaves the possibility for more to come but this duology wraps up a unique and exciting story perfectly.

This second book in the Empire of Strings series picks up the pace with Emilyn facing the consequences of her powers. The story delves deeper into the dangers of manipulating light and the weight of past decisions. I enjoyed the focus on her choices and the emerging strength she finds in her allies. It sets the stage for an epic conclusion with the fate of the universe hanging in the balance. Fans of the first book and readers who enjoy high-stakes fantasy adventures will likely be hooked.

The Empire of Strings Duology is a must read for fans of magical realism, illusion and “what is real?” sci-fi stories. The author has created such a unique world that we can all relate to on so many levels. Finding your truest self and grasping it with both hands when you realize that you’ve painted over the original version of yourself time and again with the trails and tribulations of life. I fell in love with every character the author created and with this second book found myself drawn to each of them even more. A wonderfully written story of a strong friendship and family bond that forms when you learn you must keep fighting for what is right, even when your soul is at its most vulnerable. Loved it!!! Jeffrey Lee was born in 1994 in Indianapolis, Indiana. His love for stories like Star Wars, Harry Potter, and the Percy Jackson series ignited his kinship with the fantastical world and his passion for storytelling.

He often found comfort in those fantastical characters, and soon developed a passion for creating his own at a very young age, though it would be a long while before any of these saw the light of day. As he began to discover the kind of person he wanted to be, he grew a passion for these ideas and how they could help others in the way stories helped him.

With encouragement from friends and family and his long path of self-discovery and identity, he found his passion and this led to his debut novel Empire of Strings: The Space Between Souls, where he explores the themes of identity and self-discovery and their ever-changing nature and perception.

1. What Inspired You to Write This Book?

I wrote this book because I love stories. The Harry Potter series is a favorite of mine, and its combination of creativity, magic, and suspense was inspiring to me. I find being immersed in a story and invested in what’s to come very exciting, so I wanted to create something that would allow readers to do just that.

2. What will your readers gain from your book?

In addition to being entertained, I hope my readers will see characters in difficult circumstances and feel they’re not alone in their real-life struggles. I hope that my characters’ ability to find a way forward will inspire readers to look for silver linings and that their successes as a team and struggles when divided show readers the importance of togetherness.

3. What was your unique quotient for this project?

One thing that makes my story unique is the shift in perspective. Readers get to see the events of the book unfold through the eyes of a variety of characters. This provides readers with additional information and adds layers to the story. Readers get to know each character a little more while developing a more complete picture of what’s happening in the book.

4. How did becoming an author help in your brand/business?

Becoming an author has opened the door to new opportunities. It allowed me to express my creativity in a way that helped me connect with different people and be a part of a new community. Through social media, in-person events, and more, I’ve had the chance to meet new people, share new experiences, and even support other authors in their journeys to become published.

5. What are your future plans as an author?

Moving forward, I will continue writing The Rodney Brothers series. I have a lot more of this story to give, and I’m excited to see my first two books continue to evolve.
